DWARAKISH LOOKS DEPRESSED – Sunday special
Posted date: 19 Sun, Jul 2015 – 11:28:34 AM

It is rare to find one of the geniuses of Kannada Dwarakish these days. We caught up with legendary Dwarakish on Saturday night – 18th of July 2015 – this is Sunday special chat straight from heart. There was introspection in his words.

The veteran actor, director, producer and ‘Maha Kulla’ BS Dwarakish seems to have lost his usual zeal and enthusiasm. He looks weak for one reason – wife Ambuja is not well. The two knee operation and visit to hospital for seven times put me down considerably. My health is concerned, there is no problem says Dwarakish speaking to media friends when he arrived to Citadel Hotel for ‘Aatagara’ media briefing.

I can’t see my wife Ambuja suffering. The knee operation did not work out is main cause of my worry. In this age of 73 I just think olden days and feel how I behaved, make introspection of my mistakes in those days. They were silly I repent today. I am depressed from last two years. I was not like this earlier. My ‘Churuku’ has come down. The joint pain of my wife, Ayyayyo ammamma words makes me feel very sad.

When I see Vishnuvardhana film – lot of memories crop up in mind. I am living in old memories today and not coming out from house. I get up in the morning and I glance at newspapers over a cup of coffee. Around 9 am I take a small nap and breakfast follows. Around 12 noon I take bath. Lunch at 2 pm and till 5 pm it is sleep again. From 8.30 to 11 pm I watch TV and then go to bed. As for as food is concerned ‘Naanayithu Nanna Anna Saar Ayithu’.

I have enjoyed life and kept a long silence of 14 years. It was only ‘Aptha Mithra’ changed fortune is known fact. In this gap of 14 years had I made films my banner would have reached up to 80 films easily observes Dwarakish.

What is the recent film Dwarakish had seen? It is ‘Baahubali’. It is such a wonderful film. An Indian cinema in the range of Hollywood is this ‘Bahubali’. There are many wonderful moments in the film. The war episode is brilliantly shot. When I made Singapuradalli Raja Kulla using Helicopter in those days there was huge applaud. Now things have changed and technology drives everyone. Cinema is imagination. It is a dream world. It is not easy to make films like ‘Bahubali’.

I am of Amitabh Bachchan age. He is so active. Naanu Dull Hodithiddene!

I don’t go out from home. I have stopped going to functions. My sons Abhilash, Santosh talks to me from where they are every day. That is another activity in my life now.

Recently I watched ‘Cowboy Kulla’. Except me all have gone who worked for this film makes me to think on life once again. It is a circle one cannot pass the eventuality of hard fact observes Dwarakish.

Dwarakish made a brief presence in his 49th venture ‘Aatagara’ and he has appeared for ‘Nagarakatte’ recently. On his 50th film ‘Chowka’ with Tarun Sudhir as director and his son Yogish as executive producer are working out modalities he says.

Dwarakish is our gem. We wish that he come out from present worry soon.
